Homemade Granola

Breakfast-Crunch

This is my favorite homemade granola that I can only describe with one word – YUM. Whether as breakfast for a good start in the day or a snack in between, this crunch is delicious and nutritious. For this recipe, I used half almond flakes and half oat flakes. However, you can vary this relation or add ingredients according to your taste.

Ingredients

  • 50g butter
  • 1 tbsp. honey
  • 1 tbsp. brown sugar
  • 1/2 tsp. cinnamon
  • 1 package of vanilla sugar
  • 70g almond flakes
  • 70g crisp oat flakes
  • 40g coconut flakes

Preheat the oven up to 190 degrees. Start by heating the butter with honey and 1 tbsp. sugar in a pot under stirring. It is important that the pan is not too hot to prevent the sugar from caramelizing. Add cinnamon and vanilla sugar first, then, almonds, oat flakes and coconut flakes. Spread the mixture well on a baking tray, lined with parchment paper so that it can get a nice crunch. Bake it in the middle of the oven for 5-6 minutes and keep an eye on it, the time will fly! After a couple of minutes your kitchen will be filled with an amazing cinnamon, vanilla and coconut smell. If the mixture is roasted golden yellow, take the baking tray out of the oven and let it cool, but you might not be able to resist to try some before.
