The healthy organic fast food restaurant Grown was opened by former Miami Heat player Ray Allen. Inspired by troubles finding quick healthy options for their son, who has Type 1 diabetes, he and his wife Shannon partnered with a team of nutrition experts to conceptualize a novelty in the restaurant scene. With the first organic fast food restaurant, they are living up to the needs of our fast paced, but health-conscious generation. The menu includes organic breakfast, lunch and dinner items including soups, salads, sandwiches, wraps, gluten-free baked goods, cold-pressed juices and smoothies. All ingredients are locally sourced or grown in the restaurant`s own urban rooftop garden. Food is not made or manufactured, it is “grown” here.
